News Bites Media - Magazine for primary school students

MAY 2025 – ISSUE #142

May greetings, TPPers!

We hope you enjoyed last month’s edition of The Primary Planet as we ventured into space – past, present and future – all in honour of International Day of Human Spaceflight (on   the 64th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s epic journey).

This month, we return to solid ground – but questionable solid thinking. Of course, this applies to both this month’s Big Story – Trump, Tariffs and Trade Wars – and the main feature – The Crazy World of Art!

Regarding Trump, Tariffs  and Trade Wars, we thought we’d break down all that’s happening across the world right now in relation to President Trump’s new tariffs. The reporting on this can be rather dramatic at times, so  it might be helpful to get a clearer understanding of what’s going on.

As for The Crazy World of Art, you should find this one a little more light-hearted. The term ‘more money than sense’ always springs to mind when I read news stories about a piece of art going for millions at auction. Check out our picks – you’ll find it hard not to agree that some people make crazy decisions and spend ridiculous amounts of money on what they consider art and others consider nonsense. Head to pages 16 to 18 and judge for yourself!

For all you readers of AG MAG, can we just remind you of last month’s survey? If at all possible, please fill it in and send a picture or scan of it to us at schools@ theprimaryplanet.ie. Your opinion really does matter – and we know that by listening to you we stand a better chance of creating a truly brilliant farming magazine for you to enjoy!

Right, better let you get on with your reading. I’ll see you back here for the final issue of this school year.

In the meantime, if you want or need  to get in touch, just email us at  schools@theprimaryplanet.ie.

Enjoy your mag,

Stephen
