Hello, TPPers, and welcome to Issue Numero 155!
First off, we hope you enjoyed your first issue of TPP this year. We also hope you managed to read it from cover to cover – perhaps even more than once! There are plenty of reasons why that would be a good thing, of course, but check out this month’s Big Story and you’ll discover what might be the most important one.
This month, we’ve taken a little detour – and for good reason. Have any of you ever heard of the late, great Harry Houdini? Part of me hopes you have, because his extraordinary legacy helped to shape modern magic. Another part of me hopes TPP gets to introduce you to the life and story of this truly remarkable and talented man.
How did you find last month’s History’s Mysteries? It really is an amazing story, isn’t it? The fact that it is true makes it even more mystifying. Did any of you come up with a theory about what might be buried so deep beneath Oak Island? If you enjoyed that story, then this month’s murky mystery should intrigue you just as much!
As many of you will know, Maths Week falls in October and, when Tony heard this, he got to thinking – ‘Let’s put our TPPers’ mental maths skills to the test!’ So, perhaps some day during Maths Week, from October 10–18, head to the back of your mag and tackle Tony’s Soccer Maths Time quiz. We’ve even included extra-time conundrums for all you early finishers!
As we like to remind you, we love to hear from our TPPers, so if you have a question, an idea or even a suggestion for something you’d like to see in a future issue, email us at schools@theprimaryplanet.ie. Special thanks to everyone who wrote in with stories and news – and well done to all who got published. Keep up the great work!
See you back here after the midterm … and don’t eat too many Hallowe’en treats while I’m gone!
TPP, abú!
