Ireland Cricketers Make History

Andy McBrine starred with bat and ball as Ireland’s cricketers claimed a historic series win against the West Indies in Jamaica.

Ireland rallied superbly after a disappointing loss in the opening match, winning the final two games to claim their first series win away to a leading cricket nation.

McBrine took four wickets in both the second and third matches, and scored 59 runs off 100 balls in the series decider as Ireland won by two wickets.

Ireland will look to maintain that form at this month’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers in Oman. They have been drawn against the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Germany in Group A.

Their first match is against the UAE on February 18.
