Glanmire and Tralee crowned champions

 

Glanmire won their eighth Paudie O’Connor Cup thanks to a thrilling 72-65 win over Mercy at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.

Glanmire trailed by 14 points in the final quarter but produced a stirring comeback which was inspired by Ireland international Claire Melia, who scored 10 points.

Melia was awarded the MVP (most valuable player) as she ended the game with 21 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, four steals and two turnovers.

Tralee Warriors, meanwhile, won the Pat Duffy Cup after an 88-75 succeess over Neptune.

Daniel Jokubaitis scored 19 points and had seven rebounds and four assists, earning him the MVP award.
