The Republic of Ireland will play in an international tournament in Spain this month as they continue preparations for their crucial Women’s World Cup qualifier against Sweden in April.
Vera Pauw’s team will take part in the Pinatar Cup in Murcia and begin with a game against Poland on February 16.
The winner of that game will play either Hungary or Russia three days later, with the final game of the tournament taking place on February 22. All eight competing teams are guaranteed three matches.
Ireland manager Pauw said: ‘Our focus is very much on the qualifying game against Sweden in April, but we plan on giving players opportunities to play in these games and that will help us in our overall preparations.’
