Did you know?
Michael Bond created Paddington Bear after spotting a lonely teddy bear in a shop on Christmas Eve 1956. Feeling sorry for it, he bought the bear and started writing stories about it. The first book, A Bear Called Paddington, was published in 1958 and has never been out of print since! Bond went on to write over 20 books about the beloved bear.
